Blogs,
as already defined numerous times, are informal websites where
people post their stories, opinions and links, which are often
updated on a daily basis where the most recent entries takes
the forefront, relegating the old entries to online archives
simultaneously. These personal diaries have changed into tools
for knowledge sharing, public education, customer service,
journalism, and community building & marketing. In one
term, such tools are referred as Learning Circuits.
Learning
Circuits blog started in April 2002, with the mastermind of
Peter Jackson, Tom Barron, ClarkeQuinn, Bill Horton, Kevin
Wheeler, Ellen Wagner, Margaret Driscoll, Allison Rossett,
Richard Clarke and Jay Cross. But subsequently the blog came
to a halt because of the advancement of technology. However,
it again started to grow with the innovation of sharing comments
on it. Now bloggers get them linked to one another for the
purpose of getting feedbacks. In some cases many of the blogs
are syndicated, wherein the blogs entries are automatically
moved to a consolidated blog. The concept of blogging is “sharing
one another’s’ ideas and thoughts.” In order to express and
emphasize personal views, in many cases authors just quotes
another author/s’ blog entries or writing. The main implications
of the blogs that can be felt today are bullet-listed below.
- Traditional
content suppliers will face substantial pressures to respond
- The
contents can be decentralized and distributed.
- The
user is in control
Mostly the expectation of the people is to
make a conversation rather than to attend lecture.
