When writers make several blogs and link these with other
blogs and/or within one’s own they should be careful
in following few tips that can be helpful in making their
blogs and its link attractive.
Blog Links should be brief and meaningful: A popular way
of creating blog links is to link several sentences or paragraphs
as one giant link, which can clear the intrinsic meaning about
the link so that a user can understand about the contents
lying at the particular link.
Blog Links should be Informative: A blog
link should provide clear information about the subject of
the respective blog. At the time of making links if it is
highlighted in some bright color/s or with an underline, then
links become distinct and are easily seen within a large text.
It should be clear about what the links do offer: A blog
user should be clear about why he/she should be clicking on
the link. Blog users or readers should have a general idea
of what they are going to get when they click on a link, thus
making readers or users not to go into unnecessary detail.
So a link that reads “Green Chili” shouldn’t
take reader to a peanut butter factory.
Blog Links and Site Mechanics: The users
or readers don’t care about how they need to do things.
Most of the users know that a hyperlink will take them to
another website. So, saying something like “go to the
Green Chili web site …” is just repeating the
obvious.
Verb Phrases in Links: If a writer thinks
that he/she will give verb phrases as a link it may not work,
because verb phrases do not explain what the link is about.
A link is generally a noun by default, so writing verbs in
links is just making it longer than necessity.
So while making a meaningful and attractive blog links, “click
here” comment should be used more for the users or readers
of the blog.
