Political Blogs had played an important role in the Presidential
Election in America in the year 2004. It is said that a flood
of Political Blog at the time of election, turned computer
into a political machine. Some blogs supported Bush and try
to influence them for voting Bush, where as some supported
Kerry and pointed out what will be happen if Kerry being a
President of America. Daily Kos, National Review Online, Eschaton,
Political Animal, Instapundit.com, Kausfiles.com, Andrew Sullivan,
USS Clueless and Talking Points Memo are most of the popular
political sites in the 2004 election.
Washingtonpost.com a famous web site in America arrange a
competition to nominate Political Blog readers to choose their
most favorable web log in each of the 10 categories. The nominating
period ran from July 26 through Sept 3, 2004, and the voting
period was from Sept 27 to October 15. The survey result was
announced in the last week of October. After that readers
were made to vote for their favorite party for each category
among the top five nominees. The Blog readers choose National
Review Online’s “The Corner” to be the winner
in the “Best Rant”, “Best Democratic Party
Coverage”, “Best Republican Party Coverage”
and “Best Inside the Beltway” categories. “Kerry
Spot” is another Blog of National Review Online Blog
site won the “Best Campaign Dirt Category”. Daily
Kos won for “Honorable Mention”, where as Instapundit.com
won for “Most Likely to Last beyond Election Day”.
This survey showed that Blogs influenced this Presidential
election with their appearance in the different blogging sites.
